At our timber recycling site we stream the timber into two main grades. Clean timber (such as pallets and untreated wood) and dirty timber (such as formica, MDF, laminates and painted timbers).
Clean timber is chipped and sent for use in chipboard or in the animal bedding industry. Dirty timber is shredded prior to being sent for use in the energy industry.
