Recycling Wastes

A unique feature of Todd's Recycling services is that in addition to supplying collected recyclate to the traditional reprocessors, such as newspapers to the newsprint mills, we also have our own reprocessing capacity, to turn the collected goods into a finished product.

Whilst most recycling companies collect and bulk recyclable materials onto a final reprocessor, we handle all stages in house.

There are many different types of waste which can be recycled, here are some of the more common types.

Recycled Products

Other than providing many baled products that are sent for reprocessing, we also offer many in-house recycled products. These include:

At our timber recycling site we stream the timber into two main grades. Clean timber (such as pallets and untreated wood) and dirty timber (such as formica, MDF, laminates and painted timbers).
Clean timber is chipped and sent for use in chipboard or in the animal bedding industries.
Dirty timber is shredded prior to being sent for use in the energy industry.
Todd Waste Management specialise in recycling of paper and cardboard. We can even provide clearly marked containers to assist you and your staff in segregating your cardboard and paper keeping it free from contamination.
Recycled paper can be used in a number of industries including the newspaper print industry.
One of our main areas of expertise is in the diversion and recycling of all grades of plastic, from clean film to agricultural film, solid plastics such as UPVC, ABS, PS.
At our Thirsk site we have the facility to wash dirty plastic to recycle traditionally un-recyclable plastics
From our Thirsk and Knapton sites we produce recycled aggregates graded and produced to the same specification as the primary aggregates
Recycled aggregates include 6F stone, Type 1 stone, Pipe Bedding, Clean Stone, Top Soil, Grit Sand, Glass Sand and Fill Sand
At our composting sites across the area, we compost Green Wastes and Horticultural wastes. By diverting this material away from landfill it reduces costs of disposal.
We produce a compost suitable for blending with soils to increase nutritional value. Many materials are compostable and will be considered.
